”The lizard that jumped from the high Iroko tree to the ground said he would praise himself if no one else did.”‘ _African Proverb.
Even the lizard knew self appreciation’s worth
Though you may not gain recognition from others for the cool things you do, you can always honor yourself for doing it. Self appreciation can and never will it kill you.
Don’t wait for the recognition of others, because not everyone is worried about what you do and how you do, not to be taken in a negative sense.
The world owes no you nothing, that’s what I’ve come to understand lately. No one is obligated to praise you, but I feel like the best appreciation you can get is the self appreciation from yourself to you yourself; feeling within that whatever you’ve done, you should be proud of it, because you’ve exerted the effort to do it at all.
You deserve the appreciation no matter what. It keeps you forging ahead, wanting to surpass your other goal you just celebrated. There’s a joy divine that comes with appreciating yourself for that milestone just achieved.
“When you undervalue what you do, the world will undervalue who you are.”
