Top 7 Places To Visit In Lagos

Posted by

I know, summer is still far away, and I for one, don’t think we Nigerians really do think or carry summer on our heads like gala in Lagos traffic except for omo baba olowo(s) dem dem.

Considering the above, I know most of us just prefer to visit most public places during public holidays, weekends, festive periods or maybe Summer maybe ooo… I’m not gonna be including malls or whatever like most other lists cos I think that’s gonna be cliche, or don’t you think?

So, first off the list is gonna be …

1. Freedom Park; This used to be a British prison yard during the days of colonial masters. Its been converted to a park now, with bars, theaters and live shows like Afropolitan Vibes founded by Ade Bantu.

2. Kalakuta Republic; This was the home of Afro beat Legend Anikulapo Kuti! This place contains rare pictures of the Abami Eda himself, as its now been turned into a museum. Visit and enjoy History exclusively, FIRST HAND.

3. National Theater; This place is the juice for me actually. You just can’t go wrong with national theater; you get to watch culturals, plays or even chill under the Abe Igi, that has several local bars and numerous local delicacies and chilled drinks at the same time enjoying its serene environment of ever green grass.

4. Muson Center; You want to see musicals, plays, attend a concert or even exhibitions? just get your precious self and enjoy your free time… I can’t say more…

5. Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS); Incase you forgot, this was where Nigeria got her independence, and you remember when Queen of England came to Naija? This was where she hosted. The big old SQUARE. Its also where the gospel concert Experience is hosted yearly.

6. Nike’s Art Gallery; Where are the art lovers? this one is exclusively for y’all lol… Its owned by Nike Okundaye, the owner and curator of the gallery. It  has collections from different parts of the country.

7. Lekki Conservative Centre (LCC); LCC is the place to visit when you want to escape car horns, *uncle con buy* infact Lagos Traffic Noise in general … i so love this place for its ambience, making you feel closer to nature…
